![]() El Masry is currently working on a novel wound care dressing to combat multidrug resistant biofilm. The results of this study showed that the dressing contributed to the rapidly resolution of the inflammation at the wound site additionally, the scaffold bolstered the expression of antimicrobial peptides that decreased the biofilm formation, rapid reepithelization, improved collagen deposition and maturation with overall better wound healing outcome. El Masry studied the effect of tissue scaffolds on the wound microenvironment by utilizing stabilized collagen matrix dressing. El Masry developed a clinically relevant swine model that recapitulates features characteristic of human CLI reproducibly that is validated comprehensively by both non-invasive and invasive assessment and lends itself to detailed mechanistic studies and interventional drug testing. For a long time, EL Masry’s works were based on oil painting as an experiment whose background is based on the intellectual and theoretical basis. He obtained a Diploma in painting and photography in 2006, a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education in 2003, from Helwan University he works and lives in Cairo. He previously served as an assistant lecturer at department of Plastic Surgery, Zagazig University from 2012-2018. Mohamed El Masry, visual artist, and photographer, was born in 1978, in Giza, Egypt. The limitation to clinical translation is the lack of a large animal model that mimic the ischemic myopathy changes seen in PAD or CLI. El Masry joined The Ohio State University, Department of Surgery as a research scholar from 2016-2018. His research focus is regenerative medicine in wound healing.Ĭritical limb Ischemia (CLI) carries about 25% to 40% risk of major amputation with 20% annual mortality Therefore, it is critical to develop novel therapeutics that can rescue the tissues and decrease the amputation rate. The people you live around can also affect your health as some places have lower or higher rates of physical activity, increased alcohol intake, smoking, obesity, and cancer rates. It can refer to air quality, water quality, risk of getting respiratory disease or cancer. El Masry is a plastic surgeon scientist serving as a co-I on many grants funded by NIH and the Department of Defense. The health of a city has many different factors.
